Sep 25- Oct 11 Viennese Waltz Camps- Prep for the balls!

TWO camps (or take them both!), one camp for foundational technique waltzers, a second for more advanced technique and movement for waltzers!

“Oh, well. What’s a royal ball?
After all, I suppose it would be frightfully dull,
and-and-and boring, and-and completely…
Completely wonderful.”        -Cindarella

DC is America’s center for Viennese Waltz.

Join us and prepare for the ball season!

Immersion is the Best way to learn!

Washington DC is the Mecca of Viennese Waltz for the USA- 8-10 balls/year, packed with waltzers, meeting and dancing, exercising, networking, and creating intrigue! How best to prepare for such a ball? Immerse yourself!

This year features TWO immersion camps:

CAMP 1: Sep 25-28 (4 sessions) FOUNDATIONAL TECHNIQUE: This first camp will slowly but surely teach you the basic skills in the Viennese Waltz to prepare you for this incredible experience, with a series of advancing lessons. You will learn basics of social Waltzing along with some elements of Smooth and Standard! By the end, you will have developed skills that will give you basic skills for any Viennese Waltz setting, and you will also make a lot of dance friends while doing so.

CAMP 2: Oct 9-11 (3 sessions) EXPERIENCED WALTZERS (INTERMEDIATE AND UP): Camp 2 is for the connoisseur! You will advance in technique and knowledge of multiple fast waltz styles, including the classic International Style, American Smooth, and a few steps that have been almost lost to history that you might have seen in such movies as The Sound of Music and Snow White. We will also teach a routine that will advance in each session.

If you have been to past immersions, remember, every year we teach different movements, so you can always learn more of this dance rich in possibility. This year is particularly immersive, because there are two balls in October, one after each camp, and we will also teach an additional session at Glen Echo Park.

Prices rise at the door! Prices vary because you may register for either camp or both camps. Also, while we encourage attendance at all sessions, we understand the busy life of professionals in the area! If you have conflicts, you may substitute sessions from either camp; email Todd with your scheduled dates. We generally recommend most dancers start with the first session to begin or continue to work on the basics; however dancers with quite a bit of experience can start with later sessions. Anyone with a little experience may join both camps.
