Hawaii Tango and Fitness Trip 12-23 January 2011

Get away from the cold January weather! Breath in amazing air, smell the forests and ocean breeze, be mesmerized by sunsets, drink water filtered naturally by volcanic rock for thousands of years, drink coconut milk, soar through the jungle, exercise your bodies in the morning with fitness experts, relax at the beach, eat amazing Mahi Mahi, celebrate at a Luau, and DANCE TANGO! In January 2011, we will take our students and friends on an adventure of a lifetime to my second home.

My goal is to make this trip something you will remember and smile about for the rest of your life! YOU WILL STAY IN VERY NICE PLACES AND HAVE AMAZING TOURS AND ADVENTURES.  Some of the other travel companies that offer travel put you in bad hotels; we will go to very high class locations on the beach in Oahu and in a beautiful cottage setting on Kauai.

Package price of $3800 for Singles and $6,500 for couples includes:
• Excellent Hotel accommodations (at least 4 Stars!)
• All Flights to islands and interisland (Dulles- Honolulu- Lihue- Dulles)
• 8 Nights of Tango Lessons with the Master who taught me and others from Buenos Aires
• Private air-conditioned vans for Circle-Island Tours and all transportation (including fuel)
• Ziplining adventure, hike in the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, Canoeing to a Waterfall
• Luau, Hanauma Bay Snorkeling, Diamond Head Hike

Day 1 Wed 12 Jan: TRAVEL- Fly Dulles to Honolulu arriving approx 5 pm.  Hotel check-in (a 4 Star Hotel on the beach!) , rest,  orientation.  Sleep early (because of time change, everyone will be tired quite early).

Day 2 Thu 13 Jan:  BEACH DAY Plus TANGO- Early morning optional short run (or walk) to and around park near Diamond Head Volcano.   Optional meet up  for breakfast.   Enjoy the beaches of Waikiki.  Meet at hotel lobby  go get dinner near tango location, then tango with Maestro George Garcia!

Day 3 Fri 14 Jan CIRCLE ISLAND TOUR Plus TANGO- Breakfast and then Circle Island Tour.    We will stop and eat local foods and drink fresh coconut milk and have fish and shrimp and local foods along the way, as we visit several gorgeous points along the Windward Side and the North Shore.    Clean up in hotel, quick dinner, then tango with Maestro George Garcia!

Day 4 Sat 15 Jan DIAMOND HEAD HALF DAY Plus TANGO- Optional outing to climb Diamond Head (relatively easy hike).   Afternoon free for everyone in Waikiki.  Tango 730-10 pm with Maestor George Garcia!

Day 5 Sun 16 Jan SNORKELING IN HANAUMA BAY PLUS TANGO- Snorkeling trip to Hanauma Bay.   Tango in afternoon with the Maestro, dinner at nice place after.

Day 6 Mon 17 Jan LET’S GO TO KAUAI!- Breakfast and checkout, fly to Kauai, the Garden Island (you haven’t lived until you’ve seen the canyon at Kauai) check-in at Plantation Cottages or equivalent 4 Star accommodations; Trip to North Shore for sunset.  Nice dinner and relax; possible tango.  At night look at one of the clearest night skies you can find in the world.

Day 7 Tue 18 Jan WAIMEA CANYON HIKE (the Grand Canyon of the Pacific- you will never forget it) POSSIBLE TANGO- Waimea Canyon, one of the greatest sites in the world.   2 Separate Groups:  Short distance hikers and Medium distance hikers.  We will hike the rim of the canyon; light hikers will go for maybe a mile total.  The tough ones will go maybe 5 miles total.  Possible tango meetup at 830-10.

Day 8 Wed 19 Jan Ziplining Adventure Plus TANGO- Breakfast on your own; go on a Ziplining adventure (most of day), which includes a short hike, ziplining, possible swimming, gorgeous views, a waterfall.  Tango again 8 or 830.

Day 9 Thu 20 Jan CANOE UP WAILUA RIVER TO WATERFALL- Canoeing up Wailua River to a waterfall. Tango at night.

Day 10 Fri 21 Jan OPTIONAL NAPALI COAST TOUR (Not included) OR RELAX AT COTTAGES. The amazing Napali Coast- if you want, you can take a trip to see them, either via helicopter, boat, kayak, or other means.  Attend Luau for final night

Day 11 Sat 22 Jan Morning Breakfast together optional other adventures; relax at cottages; late at night, fly back to DC 1045 pm!

Day 12 Sun 23 Jan Afternoon arrival at Dulles Airport

Oahu, the Gathering Place, and Kauai, the Garden Island! You will never be the same again. Honolulu majestically displays a combination of the amazing work of man mixed with awe-inspiring natural views of mountains, sea, and volcanos. Kauai- well there is nothing quite like Kauai anywhere else. Take the Grand Canyon and put it onto and Island . . . one of the most amazing sites according to Mark Twain.
